Marjorie and David were originally supposed to get married on June 20 with all their family & friends, but then COVID happened. I feel like I could just copy & paste that for all my blog posts the next few months. It sounds like they were downsizing but actually the day of, it seemed like the most natural thing in the world for it to be just the two of them speaking their truths to each other.

Why you should make time for sunset photos on your wedding day
I’m a wedding photographer so I’m always going to push for the maximum time spent with you on your day getting you beautiful, candid wedding photos. But I also know your wedding day isn’t all about me. So the one time of day I really push for getting photos (other than the first look which you should read all about here) is sunset photos.
Top tips for a great engagement session!
All of my wedding packages come with a complimentary engagement session. Why? Because it’s a great way for us to get to know each other! But a lot of people get nervous about it, for a lot of people their engagement session is the first time they’d ever been professionally photographed. I promise you it’s not as scary as it seems!
Stillybrook Farm Wedding // Kayla and Tanner
Kayla and Tanner chose to have their wedding at the beautiful Stillybrook Farm just outside Arlington. About an hour north of Seattle, its set in amongst beautiful fields with 360 degree views of mountains. It’s pretty much perfect. With indoor and outdoor seating it can be set up for any event but Kayla and Tanner opted for indoor as the end of September in Washington can honestly go either way weather wise!
The Sanctuary at Admiral West Seattle Wedding // Brian and Michael
When I hung out with Brian and Michael for their engagement session at Jack Block Park, I knew by the end of our time together that their wedding was going to be a riot, and it turns out I was correct!
My top outdoor wedding venues in Washington
Here in Washington we are lucky enough to be surrounded by beautiful scenery and luckily some smart people thought to build wedding venues in amongst them! In Washington the outdoor wedding season usually lasts from July to October sometime and mostly we are blessed with good weather that allows people to get married outdoors in amongst all that beauty. Here’s my top three outdoor wedding venues in Washington state.

Salish Lodge Wedding // Jordan and Eric
Jordan and Eric came all the way from Texas to marry in our beautiful corner of the world. They chose Salish Lodge as the venue for their ceremony and reception. Beforehand I met Jordan and Eric at their hotel to get some getting ready photos before heading to the hotel for their beautiful ceremony. At a spot right next to the gorgeous Snoqualmie Falls Jordan and Eric said their I Do’s in front of their closest family.

Point Defiance Park Engagement Session // Marisa and Al
Marisa and Al’s engagement session was supposed to take place at Rattlesnake Lake but thanks to 68 days of constant rain (but it doesn’t rain a lot here we tell people) we switched to Point Defiance at the last minute because of a road blockage. But these folks didn’t let it phase them and still showed up looking amazing and with love to spare.

Rosario Beach Engagement Session // Marjorie and David
When I asked Marjorie where she and David would like to do their engagement session, she said she wanted something in nature. I showed her the engagement session styled shoot I had just attended at PhotoLush a couple weeks prior and she was in. Even after telling her it was a two hour drive north and the best time of day was sunrise, they were still in.
