When I hung out with Brian and Michael for their engagement session at Jack Block Park, I knew by the end of our time together that their wedding was going to be a riot, and it turns out I was correct!
Michael and Brian chose a sunny day in July to get married at the beautiful Sanctuary at Admiral in West Seattle. Their wedding was scheduled to start at 12 noon but got delayed by perhaps the most interesting reason: there was a parade happening! It was the West Seattle high school marching band parade and from the colorful costumes and dancing you’d have thought they’d planned the parade themselves.
But eventually their wedding got to begin and what a beautiful wedding ceremony it was. On the stage in front of their closest family and friends, Michael and Brian said I Do in front of their officiant friend (so much nicer than having a stranger perform your ceremony in my opinion) before sitting down to a delicious meal catered by Duos.
Once the food was devoured, Michael and Brian cut a gorgeous cake (again crafted by a dear friend) before heading downstairs to the speak easy styled basement to dance to music performed by Brian’s fellow musically talented friends.
To end the day I snuck the couple outside for some couples portraits where Brian again utilized all of his trademark facial expressions. Overall this wedding day struck me as Brian and Michael to a tee: colorful, musical and crafted by friends who are family.
