There’s something incredibly special about the simplicity of an elopement, especially when it takes place in a setting as unassuming yet profoundly significant as the Seattle Municipal Court. A few weeks ago, I had the distinct honor of documenting Leyan and Jacob’s intimate courthouse elopement, a celebration that was as heartwarming as it was unique.

If you’re looking for a beautiful place to elope in the United States, there are a ton of great places in Washington. You’ve got Mount Rainier, the North Cascades and the one Finn & Taylor chose for their Washington elopement: Olympic National Park.
A Tacoma micro elopement at gorgeous Elope 253 // Derek and Evelyn
Derek and Evelyn’s city elopement at Elope 253 in Tacoma, Washington was a short but sweet elopement for a couple about to spend a lot of time apart.

Intimate Elopement at The Lodge at St Edwards State Park // Rachel and Trent
When I met Rachel and Trent for their consult prior to them booking me for their elopement, we spent almost four hours sitting talking in the sun. So I knew their intimate elopement at The Lodge at St. Edwards State Park was going to be great because it felt like I was showing up and cheering on friends.
Volunteer Park Elopement Session // Imani and Nick
A beautiful Fall Washington Arboretum Elopement // Chelsea and Matt
Chelsea and Matt flew all the way into Washington to elope on the Washington Coast and then decided they could not wait a few days more to be married and so they hired me to capture their beautiful Washington Arboretum elopement on a beautiful Fall morning.
JM Cellars Intimate Winter Elopement // Kennedy & Eby
Kennedy & Eby’s intimate elopement at JM Cellars ended up being my last wedding of the year in 2020 and it was so fitting in all the best ways. Due to Kennedy’s job they had to be very strict with the contact rules which meant everyone had to wear a mask anytime they were within 6 feet of the wedding couple. Obviously this meant we had to adapt to take some photos without masks but even the ones with people wearing masks you can feel their love for Kennedy and Eby coming through the fabric.
Intimate West Seattle Elopement // Heather & Ryann
The only two times I’ve been to Lincoln Park in West Seattle is for lesbian couple elopements, and honestly that’s a record I’m okay continuing as long as they are as adorable as the two I have done already!
Seattle Sunset Elopement // Marjorie and David
Marjorie and David were originally supposed to get married on June 20 with all their family & friends, but then COVID happened. I feel like I could just copy & paste that for all my blog posts the next few months. It sounds like they were downsizing but actually the day of, it seemed like the most natural thing in the world for it to be just the two of them speaking their truths to each other.
