Jessica is a local florist here in Seattle so when she reached out to me about doing an anniversary couple session for her and her husband Tyler, I’ll openly admit I started hyperventilating. With all the connections she has the in the Seattle Wedding Photographer network, she wanted little old me? I was beyond honored and I knew I wanted to get her and Tyler some special photos.
So we trekked all the way out to Gold Creek Pond, which if you don’t know is nestled in the Snoqualmie Pass. It’s become a bit overcrowded lately because it’s so picturesque and easy to get to, but thankfully we were there on a weekday so it was pretty quiet. Hilariously I ran into my friend Irene Jones who was out there photographing a couple, we’d just worked together a few days prior and neither of us mentioned going there so what were the chances?
Jessica and Tyler just celebrated ten years married and you’d never believe it by how adorable and playful they are with each other, they behaved like newlyweds the whole session! While I didn’t get to meet their adorable daughter, I am glad that they made the time to make this just a session for the two of them. I think it’s important as parents to remember you were a couple before you were a parent and that relationship needs to be nourished also.
The funniest part of the day had to be when I told Jessica about a pose I had in mind and told her to back up into Tyler and she proceeded to make vehicle backing up beeping noises and danced back into them. She may have misinterpreted what I meant but it was definitely funnier than the pose I had in mind!
Being that we were there in October in Washington and Fall was in full swing, it was actually kind of amazing that it only started to rain just as we were finishing up.
Thank you Jessica (+ Tyler) for trusting me with your love. If you’re looking for a couple session photographer, I’d love to chat! Head over to my contact page and get in touch.
