Evan & Kelsey’s wedding was beautiful and intimate at the most beautiful and intimate location. Nestled in front of the Cascade mountains just outside of Seattle, Wallace Falls Lodge is a stunning, nature filled venue that is quiet and serene.
Their wedding ceremony spot was nestled amongst the trees that were just bursting with Fall colors while their wedding reception took place in a tent in front of the gorgeous lodge house.
Evan & Kelsey opted for a first look and wrote each other beautiful letters to read privately together in place of personal vows during their wedding ceremony. I find this to be a much more intimate and romantic gesture that kept what was needed to be said between the two of them and nobody else.
After the ceremony there was a cocktail hour with lawn games including giant Jenga handcrafted by Kelsey’s father and corn hole with boards handmade by the bride herself! How awesome is that?
Just as tummies began to rumble, along came dinner in the form of Bitterroot BBQ. I’ve had a lot of BBQ this summer at weddings and this was definitely some of the best. Four different meats with two sides AND hush puppies left many a mouth watering.
But everyone kept room for dessert which came in the form of <cake makers> tropical flavored cakes. Guava sheet cake and a coconut-pineapple tiered cake had many going back for seconds! While the reception was turned around for dancing, the happy couple took some time to warm themselves by the fire and make smores, which someone had geniusly discovered SQUARE marshmallows for. Whoever came up with that idea needs to become a household name.
Evan & Kelsey’s first dance as a married couple was short & sweet, exactly how they wanted it. A quick dance and then all their friends joining them on the dancefloor to party the night away.
