Shoshana and Kristin’s jewish wedding ceremony at Sodo Park was as beautiful to capture as it was to witness. I also didn’t realize how much drinking was involved!
The wedding day started for Sho and Kristin with a first look out on the patio at Sodo Park. I found a corner where they could each stand but not see each other so it was truly a first look for both of them. It was so adorable when I was getting into place and they both said hi to each other. You could just hear the excitement and anticipation in their voices.
After they had seen each other and taken some time to get to check out the others dress, we all jumped in our cars and headed over to West Seattle for some family and wedding party photos. It was a beautiful sunny day with the Seattle skyline twinkling in the background as the brides took photos with their parents and closest friends. But the real star of the show was their adorable pupper who was more than happy to sit for some photos with his moms.
When we got back to Sodo Park, the brides headed upstairs for a private signing ceremony with their rabbi and witnesses. It was a beautiful private moment before the public wedding ceremony to come.
The wedding ceremony took place in the beautiful cathedral-esque space of Sodo Park that had a beautiful chuppah for the rabbi and brides to stand under. The seven blessings for the brides came from a variety of friends and family and all were heartfelt and touching. When it came time to break the glass, the glass decided it didn’t want to and tried to slip away from them but thankfully with some determination they were able to smash it and after a rousing cheer of mazel tov, they were married!
The great thing about Sodo Park is that it can host both the wedding ceremony and reception in the one space so while the team was switching over the layout the guests enjoyed cocktail hour, and the brides and I headed out for some sunset photos.
We got back just in time for their grand entrance into dinner before toasts from the matrons of honor and the fathers of the brides. After a beautiful first dance, but before the dancefloor opened, the brides enlisted a bunch of strong friends to help them with the hora. Thankfully it went off without a hitch and once they were back on the ground, the brides danced the wedding night away with their nearest and dearest.
