I started Sarah & Dave's wedding day by meeting Sarah at her getting ready location, the gorgeously modern Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Everett. Surrounded by all her bridesmaids she got her hair & makeup done by the lovely and talented Shyn of Pacific Brides.
While they were finishing up I snuck away to the venue they had their big day in, Belle Chapel, to capture Dave and his groomsmen getting ready. I have to say right now, Dave might be one of the sharpest dressed grooms I ever work with. His "winter suit" was amazing, it was custom made just for him and he looked a million dollars in it.
When Sarah arrived at the venue I snuck in to catch her getting in her dress and finish up getting ready. Her mom looked so proud of her and when she produced a handkerchief that was her late Father's as her "something old", there wasn't a dry eye in the room.
The ceremony took place in the chapel and what a beautiful room it was, high vaulted ceilings, Christmas trees and gorgeous wooden pews. Once all the groomsmen had made their way to the front, the ringbearer took his turn and on all four paws he made sure that ring got to the altar safe and sound, yes that's right Sarah and Dave had their dog Buddy as a ringsman! How awesome is that?
Sarah was walked down the aisle by her mother and brother and you could tell it meant the world to her that they were both there for her. But when Dave turned around to see her, she only had eyes for him and he for her. After he'd dried his a bit. Concluded by a handfasting tradition performed by Dave's sisters, the couple were pronounced husband and wife and sealed it with a kiss.
After the ceremony I forced the congregation out into the cold of the chapel gardens to get family photos and once they were out of the way I grabbed Sarah & Dave for some bridal portraits before letting them head indoors to warm up with a drink or two.
Dinner was provided by Brat from Deutschland and was traditional bavarian food that went over very well with the guests. But they made sure to leave room for the dessert bar which contained pies, donuts and more! In lieu of a wedding cake they had a beautiful pie made by Pies by Terry.
A short while later, Sarah and Dave were toasted (or roasted in some cases) by their nearest and dearest before taking to the floor for the first time as husband and wife. To a backdrop of Earth Angel by The Penguins, they twirled and spun gazing deep into each others eyes.
Too soon it was time for the couple to head off, an early morning flight to Paris the next day to start their honeymoon beckoned. Their guests lined up outside the chapel to cheer them on their merry way one last time though.
