Jordan and Greg’s wedding was quintessentially them. It was chilled, it was laid back and it was unassuming. But it was also beautiful, intimate and emotional.
The day started with their ceremony at J Bookwalter wine tasting rooms. Watched by their nearest and dearest they gave vows to each other, but also to each other’s children. My tear ducts were not forewarned of this.
Once they’d said their I do’s, the couple snuck off to McMenamins for a celebratory drink while everyone else went to Brightwater Education Center to get their drink on. Jordan and Greg arrived sometime later and went right into their first dance. After they’d had their dance it was time to eat! Catering was provided by a food truck and they were very popular! In lieu of a cake, the family opted for cupcakes in each of their four favorite flavors. I may or may not have sampled more than one for research purposes!
As the sun went down I grabbed the couple away for some sunset pics and as we were wrapping up Jordan’s daughter brought her a bouquet of wildflowers she’d made for her mom. It was an incredibly sweet gesture.
As I departed I heard of plans to head back to McMenamins to sit around the fire pit and have s’mores and if that doesn’t sound like the perfect end to a wedding day I don’t know what does.
If you’re getting married at the Brightwater Education Center, or anywhere else in Washington, I’d love to chat with you! Head on over to the Contact page and send me a note.
