When I met Lina and Jerrick at Deception Pass State Park for their engagement session, Washington had been experiencing a string of eighty degree days.

A few weeks ago Baylee sent me a message on Instagram to ask if I was available to capture her proposal at Treehouse Point, I of course said yes! I’ve wanted to capture love at Treehouse Point for forever so I immediately contacted them and set up a time for Baylee and a couple weeks later there we were!
A snow filled Stevens Pass engagement session // Wyatt and Miranda
In the weeks leading up to Wyatt and Miranda’s engagement session I was working myself up into an anxious mess about driving over the pass in late December. Every day I was obsessively watching the weather and the traffic cameras, predicting that the day we were due to do the sesison there would be a freak snow storm that only struck when I was crossing the pass. I actually eneded up borrowing a friends 4x4 just to make sure I was fully prepared. All of which came to nothing because the day I drove over the pass it was gorgeous clear blue skies and though there was snow on the ground there were two “ruts” that were clear to the ground. Basically it was absolutely no bother at all!

Molly and Kenji’s engagement session at Carkeek Park could not have asked for better late summer weather if it had tried. The temperature was just right for walking around but not hot enough to draw everyone else to the park as well.

While I do have some favorite spots and go to’s for engagement sessions, it’s not often that I go to them back to back but that’s what happened last Fall with Point Defiance Park. One night I was there for Adam & Tony’s engagement session and the next night I was there for Pacifica and Evan’s engagement session.

When Grace reached out to me she told me that she was a bridesmaid at Carly & Ana’s wedding a couple years ago and I was like hmm I don’t recognize the name. But when I went back to their gorgeous day and matched her face to her name I instantly remembered what a fun person she was and so I was very excited for their engagement session!
Same Sex Capitol Hill Seattle Couple Session Turns Surprise Proposal!
When Reyna reached out to me to do a couple session and told me that she was planning to propose to her girlfriend during the session, I was of course VERY excited. We planned the session for a couple months, scoped out a few locations and discussed our strategy for signalling each other that it was time.

When Adam and Tony suggested Point Defiance Park for their engagement session, I was super pumped. However when I got there I discovered that Five Mile Drive was closed and so was Owens Beach, two of the best locations in the whole park!

Discovery Park is one of my favorite parks in Seattle so when Janine told me she wanted that sunkissed long grass feel for their engagement session I knew exactly where to go.
Kerry Park Engagement Session // Dani & Michelle
Dani & Michelle were supposed to be married by now but thanks to that thing they chose to reschedule to 2021, and then 2022 so they could have the wedding they wanted to. But since so much time had passed since their first engagement session, they decided to do a second engagement session at Kerry Park so that their final wedding invitations could include their newest family member!
Richmond Beach Engagement Session // Jay & Josh
I think Jay & Josh can best be summed up by this story: I told them to walk away from me and then for Jay to lead Josh back to me by the hand. She took this to mean she was leading him like the witch leading Hanzel & Gretel to her house in the woods, complete with creepy walk and laugh. It had us all busting up with laughter because I did not expect it at all. But that is them to a tee, they’re always laughing, always smiling, never serious and they fit together so beautifully because of it.
Jeep-tastic Rosario Beach Engagement Session // Jess & Caroline
When I suggested to Jess & Caroline that we do their engagement session at Rosario Beach, I expected a little pushback because it is a good ways away from Seattle. Turns out during the pandemic they moved to Whidbey Island so it was onlt about 15 miles from them! Talk about serendipity!

When the weather looked like it was going to be meh for this engagement session, I asked Bethany & Phil if they wanted to reschedule. They chose to go ahead and I’m so glad we did because the weather actually turned out to be more than perfect, take THAT Dark Sky app.

Alanna reached out to me to do an engagement session for her and Drew back in January and we were waiting for nicer weather when along came Mr. COVID!
Top tips for a great engagement session!
All of my wedding packages come with a complimentary engagement session. Why? Because it’s a great way for us to get to know each other! But a lot of people get nervous about it, for a lot of people their engagement session is the first time they’d ever been professionally photographed. I promise you it’s not as scary as it seems!
Rosario Beach Engagement Session // Marjorie and David
When I asked Marjorie where she and David would like to do their engagement session, she said she wanted something in nature. I showed her the engagement session styled shoot I had just attended at PhotoLush a couple weeks prior and she was in. Even after telling her it was a two hour drive north and the best time of day was sunrise, they were still in.
