Sabrina and Jenn had the most beautiful day, one of the happiest and full of love weddings I've ever been to.
It all started at The Westin in downtown Seattle where both ladies stayed the night before with their wedding parties. While Sabrina was getting her hair done I jumped on the elevator to the other tower to capture Jenn getting ready with her nearest and dearest. Officiant Marsha and best friends Georgi and Carrie were on hand to help Jenn get ready, with a shot or two of whiskey to help things along of course.
When I got back to Sabrina's room, Hair stylist Stephanie had Sabrina inside a hairdryer that I'm entirely certain could be used as a space suit if necessary! Once Sabrina was dry and everyone else was all made up they were banished from the room and Jenn came in to see Sabrina for their first look.
First look's have become my favourite part of the wedding day. There's a tangible air of excitement in the room before the couple sees each other and it's a great moment for them to chill out after all the nerves and anticipation that have built up while getting ready.
When Jenn turned around to see Sabrina, you could tell she was blown away. She was literally speechless, it was beautiful to witness. They shared a quick glass of champagne and then we headed down to the lobby to get in a limo! Not something that happens everyday. From there we travelled over to Alki beach in West Seattle for some bridal party photos and then it was a quick dash back to the venue for the ceremony to begin.
What to say about the ceremony? It was intimate, it was heartfelt and it was beautiful. My favorite moment was when Sabrina saw her ring for the first time. Backstory: this ring was Jenn's Grandmothers who sadly passed away before the wedding. It's been in the family for six generations and it's a stunner. Sabrina was moved to tears when she saw it, well after a yell of "Holy shit!" that is.
From the ceremony the party kicked into high gear with some great beats playing as the guests dug into their dinner, Pagliacci Pizza. Once the pizzas had all been demolished, with some help from yours truly, Jenn and Sabrina took to the floor for their first dance as a married couple. Set to the crooning voice of Brad Paisley, the two danced without a care to the rest of the room, eyes only for each other. Exactly as it should be.
After that they danced into the wee hours of the night, drinks were flowing, cupcakes were going and the dancefloor was packed. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
