An intimate, summer Salish Lodge at Snoqualmie Falls Wedding
Danielle and John flew across the country from Oklahoma to have their wedding atop the beautiful Snoqualmie Falls at the Salish Lodge just outside of Seattle, Washington.
With only 30 people (including me) in attendance, it was a very intimate affair. But you could tell Danielle and John deeply loved everybody there and on the other side you could tell each of those people were so happy for the two of them.
I started the day with Danielle getting ready in one of Salish Lodge’s beautiful suites where you can walk outside onto your balcony and hear the roar of Snoqualmie Falls immediately. Once in her dress we did a first look with her future husband John and when I saw a tear roll down his cheek, I knew I was in for an emotional day.
After capturing all their family and wedding party photos we headed down to the riverside room for the ceremony. Danielle’s son was the flower sprinkler and took his job very seriously, until he got to the front and then just dumped them all out.
When it came time for the vows, John got about six words in before he broke down emotionally but he powered through and got to tell Danielle all that she means to him. The family also did a unity ceremony where each of the five children got a jar of sand and added it to a frame and then the parents added theirs and it was to signify they are now a blended family and can never be separated again.
After the ceremony we all headed down to the Wine Cellar for the reception. I was stunned to discover that Danielle and John had added me to theur guest list and given me a seat at a table because they didn’t want me to eat a vendor meal in a cupboard somewhere. I was incredibly touched and their food was delicious!
Danielle and John shared a first dance as their family and friends looked on and then I snuck them away to do some photos down by the falls, thinking it would be quieter later in the day. It was still pretty mobbed but thankfully people were nice and gave us room when needed.
Thank you so much Danielle and John for having me capture your beautiful day!
