Richmond Beach Engagement Session // Jay & Josh

Richmond Beach Saltwater Park is one of my favorite parks to do engagement sessions because although it’s a busy park there are so many little nooks and crannies that it never feels (or looks) like you’re in a busy park. When I met up with Jay & Josh to capture their engagement session, they told me all about the busy summer they’d had starting a new business together while I told them about the summer I’d spent doing absolutely nothing!

I think Jay & Josh can best be summed up by this story: I told them to walk away from me and then for Jay to lead Josh back to me by the hand. She took this to mean she was leading him like the witch leading Hanzel & Gretel to her house in the woods, complete with creepy walk and laugh. It had us all busting up with laughter because I did not expect it at all. But that is them to a tee, they’re always laughing, always smiling, never serious and they fit together so beautifully because of it.

Originally they planned to get married at a venue but then rescheduled to next year. However at the engagement session they told me they'd decided to go ahead and get married three weeks later in the backyard of their new house, another summer project they'd taken on!

It'll just be them and five of their closest people and I can't wait to see what they produce! I know it's going to be a day filled with love and laughter and a few tears. Tears from laughing too hard that is.

If you’re getting married, I’d love to chat to you about your photography needs for your big day. Head over to the contact page and get in touch!
