Puyallup Backyard Wedding // Bethany & Phil
In the year 2020, every wedding blog probably has something related to COVID within its story, and Bethany & Phil’s day is unfortunately no different! But these two took the situation and they ran with it to create something beautifully unique and completely theirs.
Originally they had intended to get married at a venue in Redmond but the COVID shutdowns put the nix on that so instead they hosted their family & friends at Bethany’s Aunts property in Puyallup.
It was a gorgeous day in August, not too hot and not too cool, and it stayed dry for them which is always a risk here in Washington.
We started the day with a first look under the gorgeous tree that Bethany & Phil later got married under before doing what family and wedding party portraits we could (thanks COVID).
For the ceremony Bethany & Phil beautifully decorated a tree and took the unusual steps of adding a salt barrier & handfasting to their ceremony to make it their own. They each wrote their own vows which brought out the tears and they ended it all with a sprinkle of flowers from their guests.
Thanks to the COVID restrictions in place I then had to bow out but I’m so glad I got to spend what time I could with these two on their wedding day.
